Southend & District Ladies Amateur Dart League
League Meeting 6 October 2015 held at Ambleside Club
Chairperson opened the meeting.
Secretary read minutes from last meeting (1 September 2015).
Proposed by Tracey Jones. Seconded by Barbara Chittenden. Agreed.
There were no letters to be read.
Venues
Please remind your teams that Jesters play at the Ambleside Club and not at Trinity as listed on fixture card. Please remind them so they don’t turn up at the wrong venue.
Mixed Pairs
The date has changed from 29 October and the competition will now be held on 12 November, still at the Eagle Club. Any league member who has entered and cannot make the new date will be refunded their entry fee ONLY IF they advise Trish by next Tuesday 13 October. No refunds will be made after this date.
Names and fees were all handed in, and all were reminded that no men who have played super league or county darts in the last 5 years are eligible.
N.B. Just after the meeting closed, Emma Hawkes asked about anyone that wanted to play but couldn’t do the original date. It was agreed that names can be added as long as they are given to Tricia by 13 October. All teams were still present except Leigh Constitutional Club; Jane Schroder will contact them to let them know.
Ladies Pairs
Names and fees were handed in. Competition will be held at Southend Conservative Club on 15 October and the draw will take place at 8pm sharp!
Christmas children’s party – to be held at Eagle Club and not as listed on fixture card.
Names and monies for the children’s Xmas party were handed in. There are 55 children attending so the party will go ahead on 6 December at 2pm. No more names will be accepted.
Entertainer – Lynne Remmer tried one entertainer but he is already booked. Chair Kay Ford to contact last year’s entertainer.
Christmas draw – to be held at Eagle Club and not as listed on fixture card.
Xmas draw books were given out – 5 books per registered player. Any unsold tickets must be purchased by the player. DO NOT RETURN TICKETS UNSOLD.
Please ensure that name and team is written clearly on each stub, and that stubs are folded in 4. The stubs can either be brought to the next meeting or brought along on the draw night and put into the bag yourself.
Please encourage your players to sell as many as possible; Kay stressed that it is the only fundraising we do to help buy all the trophies. If you need additional tickets please see Secretary Tricia Smith; she will have them with her at the Pairs, Captains Cup, and next meeting. Please support the league by purchasing or selling as many Christmas Draw tickets as you can – thank you 🙂
Xmas Draw food – Teresa Schwendener is to get prices from the fish & chip shop in West Road, so each team can give their order to Teresa if they want.
Result card
When completing cards, please remember to add the match date.
The website will not be updated until ALL the away cards have been received. These can be posted, emailed, or WhatsApp a photo to Jane. If you do send it electronically please note that the original card must still be provided (e.g. at next meeting).
The away card is not required for team cups but you must text your result to Jane.
Presentation night 2016
This is the league’s 30th anniversary season and any suggestions for the presentation night celebrations are welcome. The Motown Sisters were suggested.
Triples Cup
Name changes can be made up to 24 hours beforehand.
Chairperson’s AOB
Windermere Ladies stated they are short of players, if anyone hears of anyone wanting to play darts.
Lynne Remmer (Red Arrows) queried whether married/cohabiting couples should be allowed to play in the Mixed Pairs rather than just the Mr & Mrs, and a discussion followed. Currently you cannot play in both in the same season but it’s up to you which competition you enter. If people feel strongly enough then a rule change will need to be proposed at the next AGM.
Treasurer advised she had received £24 league fees.

Requirements for November meeting:
1. Triples names + fees
2. Xmas draw monies + ticket stubs (stubs can be brought along on the draw night if you prefer)
3. Xmas draw £10 raffle prize with receipt attached or £10 cash.
