Presentation night – Friday 11 July

7.30pm for an 8pm sharp start. Tickets are £3 each. 100 have been sold so far.

Please ensure that your players write their name and team on the ticket stub. Only those players present on the night will go into the prize draw. Maggie Frost will be on the door collecting stubs. This prize draw is for league members only, not guests.

As explained at the last meeting, tickets will be available on the night but purchasers cannot be guaranteed a seat at your team table, since these will have been set up earlier in the afternoon. You will have to find your own seat – and please don’t nick one from another team’s table!

Teams should make their own food arrangements. After the presentations there’ll be a break before the band. So if you’re having food delivered we anticipate this should be around 8.45-9pm.

Each team is required to bring a £10 raffle prize or £10 cash. These were all received at the meeting.

All trophies have been returned and accounted for.

Children’s party

Teams agreed to increase the ticket price to £5 per child. Money and names must be in at the October league meeting. The party is the first Sunday in December, which this year is 7 December, at Ambleside.

It was decided that Kay will book entertainer Mark Lambert, who does children’s parties and includes balloon modelling and face painting. It was decided not to use Edna again.

AGM Wednesday 30 July

This year has really flown by and the AGM is so close already. Someone from each team must be there in order for the team to enter the league next season. The venue was going to be WBL but if the front bar is not available then we’ll look for another venue, because this side room is far too small to fit everyone in.

We need nominations for the committee; please ring Secretary Tricia Smith so we can get their names on the voting forms. Anyone wishing to stand really needs to get their name in this week. We don’t have that many committee meetings.

The night for holding league meetings will be discussed at the AGM. This doesn’t need to be taken back to teams, since everyone that is in the room for the AGM are generally those that turn up for league meetings.

It would be really nice to have some new committee members from teams that aren’t currently represented.
The constitution allows for a maximum of 12 on the committee, including the Chair, Secretary and Treasurer. Hazel Boxall is standing down this year. Doreen Adams noted that she is willing to remain on the committee but is unable to attend the AGM this year.

Proposals for rule changes to be considered at the AGM must be given in writing to Tricia Smith by the end of June.

Registration forms will be distributed at the AGM.

Treasurer advised she had received £96 league fees (March, April, May, June fees).

Next meeting AGM Wednesday 30 July 2014, 7.30pm upstairs at Ambleside [venue was confirmed after this meeting took place].

Meeting closed at 8.32pm.
